Here Comes Time

I Love My Class. Granted, they can be exasperating, annoying and cheerfully unaware of some things going on in the world, but I don't hold that against them. Maybe I'm just too serious sometimes. In any case, this is the absolute BEST class I've ever been in, 4S1 running in a very close second. And we have one heck of a Care Person. That's the TP version of a form teacher, by the way. I mean, how many other teachers can put up with so much hyperactive and zany behavior from one class, and then buy lunch for that whole class? Mr Ethan Guo, We Salute You!

Okay, for once, I have all my stuff prepared for GDF and EssGra. Both projects are ready and waiting, the only problem is that the EssGra project needs to have a few spanners in the works sorted out. Nothing too drastic, thankfully. And I put my trust in Jiaqi to sort them out. She's a smart cookie, she is. Kudos to Michelle and Shafiq as well, for contributing so much to the project.

Now, my checklist for school simply reads: Journalism 1 assignment, and prepare for exams. That's right folks, my major assignments are all in, and I'm almost done with the semester. Perhaps at the end of the week, I will post my views on the WHOLE class. Well, maybe an exception or two. After all, if you've nothing good to say, don't say it. And since Friday is Ms Tan's last day on the job, I think we should get her something, don't you?

Right, another game of football coming up on Monday. That's probably the highlight of my weekend, unless I go beast some sushi joint with the Crazy Gang. Hope they're free. I wonder how they are all getting along. Time for a surprise inspection! Heh heh. Barge in at their houses and crash on the couch time! Nah, won't happen. I'm too nice. =)

Oh yeah, I'm told we are at a disadvantage playing other regional teams, as our defence is not that great. Well, what the hell did you expect, since our idea of defence seems to be leaving a lone sweeper to cover, and letting every other player charge up the bloody field, without listening either to the sweeper or the goalie? Way to go, geniuses. You can't expect Alan and I to catch every bleeding thing thrown at us, and do so with no defensive cover, or anyone tracking back. JBC. To any prospective defenders, have some sodding discipline. BFH.

Presentations, presentations, presentations. Had quite a few this term, don't know how well I did. Hope what I gave was enough. Maybe next semester will be better, since there won't be anymore exams. Also, I'm told some subjects are great if you can use flashbangs and smokes, so I have my fingers crossed. I certainly won't do that great for this semester, unless I can spring a major surprise. Hope springs eternal in the human breast, et cetera.

I should legally change my name to JJ Seah Junjie. I'm a little tried of people not being sure what my name is. And JJ is good. I used to want Craig, or Johnny or something, but maybe when I really want to GTF outta here and go somewhere far away. And that don't look like happening anytime soon.

I have a possible job offer. Got the word over the past few days. Sounds extremely tempting. And with the job market so bad, any openings are certainly worth consideration. I don't have that much to do, anyway.

I need less coffee, and more sleep. My energy levels seem to crash during the late morning to early afternoon, and again at night. Eight to twelve cups a day is unhealthy, especially my kind of blend. Well, the first step to recovery is recognizing the problem. And I need to stop swearing so much...NOT. It ain't me, babe. It just ain't. And I need more swim partners, it get's boring cranking out 40 laps by yourself. My shoulder and back problems are finally gone, thank God. Now there's just my knee I gotta watch. I wanted a motorcycle. My dad wouldn't let me. I'll settle for a muscle car, or at least a muscle car bodykit on a good set of wheels. Time to look into getting my license.

Second Verse, Same As The First

The new year has become just another year. The holiday euphoria has worn off, and I believe we can all go back to the comfort of the familiar. Routine, habit, ritual and practice. It had to come sometime, but believe me, I wish it never would.

Imagine. By the end of this year, we will all note the drop of another grain of sand in our hourglasses. Will we truly be "another year older, another year wiser"? I certainly hope so.

So far, so good. Things have been going along very well. I'm still working, probably til end Feb. However, I am on vacation...now, what should I do with said vacation?

Goals...ever so simple, and yet, so far away from achievement. Oh well, here goes nothing.
  1. Stabilize weight at 90kg
  2. Learn to play my electric guitar
  3. Get into my course of choice
  4. Be nice to people.
  5. Ask a girl out properly, without somehow pissing her off or frightening her away.
  6. FACEBOOK!
  7. Celebrate my birthday.
Okay, that's all from me. Targets haven't changed too much, I guess. Second verse, same as the first.

The One Constant In The World

Change. Ya gotta love it. It comes along out of the blue, and smacks straight into you when you're just going on, minding your own business. Bolt out of the bloody blue. Whoop-de-effin-doo. Anyway, here's confirmation of my current status, and my plans.

I have officially dropped out of my course. I am now an intern at a finance company. I plan to resume my studies next year. I have no intention of returning to my old course, or other engineering/science course, for that matter. I still plan to get my driver's license. My endpoint is still the same, just that the route has changed slightly.

I have made a few promises I fully intend to keep. First off, I will pay for the net's popcorn. I am completely serious. Second. I will learn as much as I can on my job, and not succumb to possible boredom. Third. I will pay attention to a friend's advice that sometimes, she might be right in front of me, but I might not see her...once I figure out what the hell that means. Fourth. I will keep going to the gym. Fifth. Start my Christmas list.

To all who are gonna have exams soon, all the best. For those starting school again, just chill... you'll get over it...it's another tequila sunrise, that's all.

Life Is A Highway

I'm less tired than I was at the start of the break. Also, less bored. Several interesting events have unfolded. I'm much better for them. It's been a good few weeks.

I have a few announcements to make. Firstly, I am leaving my course of studies. Whatever was taught sure hasn't stuck. Probably never will. I will be getting a job when term re-opens, and will not be returning to school, except maybe to pinch some movies, books and the like. Or I might do that during the last week of break. Whatever works out, I guess.

Secondly, I am giving up my pursuit of her. I did send her an email asking her out, just for a movie and coffee, but have yet to receive a proper response. Also, since I am leaving my course (and most probably the polytechnic), it don't seem too sensible to keep her thinking I'm trying something. I leave that part of my life to chance, fate and time.

Third. HAPPY BIRTHDAY RAHMAN! Yeah, yeah, I'm weeks late, but still, better late than never, eh? (I really need to stop procrastinating, retyping entire articles and deleting them). Anyway, here's wishing you all the best for promo results. Ride on, my brother-in-arms!

Fourth. I am trying to hammer out a plan for my life, or at least the education part of it. Yes, I'm actually thinking hard during a holiday break. No, I don't mean that I was not thinking when I was talking about your life. Of course I was thinking, and not on autopilot. It's just that I am putting as much serious thought as I can into this. All better now? Good. Thank you. Now sod off, you hypersensitive bitch. No wait! I didn't mean to hurt your feelings, it was meant for the other guy. Yeah, you at the back, the one who didn't get it...oh never mind.

Now, for something a little less serious.

I've been going out a lot more lately. 2 badminton games, 1 basketball game, lunch, a school tour, a gaming spree, and more food and drink. For once, I actually enjoyed myself bags more, rather than the usual sitting in front of a computer, like I'm doing now. So, to the cool cats of region 3/4, who planned and organized all the events, thanks for a job well done. Boredom has been alleviated.

Let's see, am I missing anything....nope, don't think I have. Well, til next time chaps. Oh wait. Yeah. Paul Newman has gone to the great roundup in the sky. This video is posted in his honor. To the Hudson Hornet.

Sod It All

Holidays. Bloody hell. More like boredom, if you ask me. Me dad is still stalling over the job, I have no idea how my exams went (though I hope I failed everything), I don't have much to look forward to, all my games have gone stale, and I've finished watching all the stuff my dad and i bought on our $500 spending spree. Oh yeah, and some updates on that list of mine.

  1. Get The Girl. - Big mistake. She seems to be too busy/uninterested in guys at the moment.
  2. Get my JJ-ness back. - Well, this one's a little better. Despite being utterly bored, I've at least started reading books again, and I'm trying to understand how my thought processes, beliefs, ideas, philosophies and experiences were formed. In short, I'm beginning to understand me again.
  3. Get a job. - Like I said, my dad's stalling. Maybe Gold 90FM has a student DJ position.
  4. Get money. - Besides my weekly pittance, not much unless I get a job....
  5. Get lots of fun. - Everyone seems to be busy or camping, so no fun as of yet.
  6. Get fit. - Faring the best. Knocked off about two kilos so far, should be down to 91 by the end of the hols.
  7. Get ready to rock 'n roll. - This one's half and half. I found a nice Epiphone guitar pack (Les Paul Special II no less) for about $600. Problem? I need $600.

Bloody effin' hell, what a lousy rotten holiday this is. And it's now 3am on a Monday morning, with results out tomorrow and a day of badminton to look forward to. A favourite line of mine, hopefully prophetic at this time...Business is about to pick up.

Fluctuations And Other Obscenities

A Chinaman walks into a restaurant and orders some food. After the meal, he looks at the bill and asks why it is so expensive this week when last week he paid 20% less for the same dishes. The waiter replies:" Fluctuations", to which the Chinaman replies, "Fluck you too."

A Jew says to a Chinaman:" Hey you chink, stop squinting!" The Chinaman replies," Hey, it's your fault, Jew, you sold me these cheap glasses!"

This ends my little presentation. Thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen.

Prices are going down, and portions are going up. Oh, wait, that's the other way around. Ah well. Guess it will do me good to eat less than eight meals a day. Yeah, I used to eat breakfast, a mid-morning snack, brunch, lunch, an afternoon nibble, tea, dinner, coffee and finally, supper. Oh, and add in various miscellaneous bites of this and that when I'm feeling peckish. So yeah, I'm just your average ordinary everyday polar bear...err, I meant teenager.

Exams have ended. I might do well. Pigs might fly. Whales might walk. Aliens might exist. I might stop cracking racist and dirty jokes. Yeah, like that's ever gonna happen.

My holidays are until the 12th of October. Yep, read it and weep, buddies. 12th October. Bloody hell, that's a lot of time on my hands. Time to start getting of my arse and getting a good job. As a chef. Yeah, that's an idea. Poison people with too much sugar, milk, cream, salt, eggs, pepper and other ingredients and condiments. Oh, and salad. Wait, what? AAAAAH! Think junk food! JUNK FOOD! CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM WITH VANILLA CREAM CHOC CHIPS COOKIES CHOC SAUCE PEANUT BUTTER STRAWBERRY CREAM ICING APPLE CRUMBLE CHEESECAKE AND A BIG FROTHY MUG OF COFFEE WITH FULL FAT MILK SUGAR SOLUTION CHOC SAUCE TOPPED WITH WHIPPED CREAM SUGAR GLAZING AND A CHERRY ON TOP! Yes, much better now.

Y'know, most if not all the nice girls I know have gone to or are in other countries, are attached, or very uptight about getting attached. Was there never a tale of more woe, than Juliet, and searching desperately for her, Romeo?

But soft! What light through yonder window breaks? It is the east, and Juliet is the sun! Arise, fair sun, and slay the envious moon. It is the east, and Juliet is the sun. - From "Romeo and Juliet, Act 2 Scene 2"

Yeah, and I wrote all that without referring to my copy of R&J. Jolly well done, old boy! Good form and all that. My literature skills might be dormant, but they sure as heck still exist. That's comforting.

Moving on, my plans for the holidays, in no particular order.
  1. Get The Girl.
  2. Get my JJ-ness back.
  3. Get a job.
  4. Get money.
  5. Get lots of fun.
  6. Get fit.
  7. Get ready to rock 'n roll.

Roadblock, Or Just A Traffic Light?

Bloody 1am, and I'm supposed to be sleeping. Oh well. Here's a recount of Wednesday's events.

Slept until around 10, then got up, and somehow made my way down to Dhoby Ghaut, to go jamming with Rahman, Wei Jie and Jeremy. Those guys seem to forget that I can't play musical instruments yet, just vocals. Plus, to compound matters, we did not know any jamming studios. But we still went all the way to Swee Lee to muck around for a few hours. Rain started pouring down, so we ran through a little storm and got back to City Hall. Sakae Buffet Rocks! The only problems being that it's GST costs are bloody horrible(especially for students) and bloody hidden. Also, they have this problem of not fixing their coms, so we can't always order by computer. There were also these two tables of idiots in front of us in the buffet line. Typical Beng and Lian behaviour. Talk talk talk, swear in dialect, talk about things in a very inward-looking, non-cosmopolitan way, moan and groan about eating and gaining weight in singlish, blahblahblah. Oh BOOHOO. Don't eat if you don't want to. Sheesh. Never mind, we still managed to down close to 75 plates altogether, making it well worth the $60+ spent.

Got home, Maplestory refused to cooperate. I'm sorry Rahman, it wouldn't cooperate even when I told it that it had to collaborate, or be shot. So I played Mechwarrior for a few hours, then listened to Rascal Flatts until my dad complained I was supposed to be asleep. But I have one major piece of bad, or good, news.

Miss T.W. does not want to go watch Enchanted. She's already seen the movie, with some friends if I'm not wrong. But still, how this ends up depends on me, and I've just decided to view it as a traffic light, rather than a roadblock. I will ask her to watch The Golden Compass, and I will ask her tomorrow. That way, I can bring her to the premiers, or something like that. After all, the early bird gets the worm, if at first you don't succeed try try again, and all that. I am 100% certain I will do it. I won't stop trying, of that I'm assured.

Oh, and Happy Birthday Bryan Ng! Thanks for ten years of memories, and here's wishing for many more! Dias Naomh Aindrea! SA_FOREVER!

Postcards For A Party

Party's been confirmed for the 29th. I am truly sorry to all those who have to rearrange their schedules, but it can't be helped. Since I still can't confirm everyone, I will be sending out cards to invite everyone. Job search is stagnating, as my relatives still haven't got back to me. Also, I now have A Guitar! Yamato G44, made in Japan. Paid $99 for it. I'm very happy with the whole package, even if I can only play three chords as of now. Let my odyssey towards becoming a guitar hero begin! Rock On!

Alright, enough of that. I shall be visiting the SuperTeens camp next week, and saying hello to some of the guys. Also, I will be practising on my guitar, for about 30 mins each day, till I can play my beloved country and gospel songs. Once again, my thanks to Rahman and Jeremy Ho for accompanying me to get my guitar. Pics will be on my Friendster site, so go there and take a looksie. Goodnight!
