The Waiting Game
If all my friends are to be believed, this will be the last two weeks of freedom I have left. Rumors abound about when our results will be released,, but I've given up on worrying. Worrying distracts me. I'm gonna have my fun, that is a fact. Still a few movies left to download or watch, still some things to do. My iPod's working just fine, and currently holds 1400+songs and 3 movies. Nice, eh? I will import more over the coming days. Here's to a new beginning!

An Apple™ A Day
Gaaaah, I've had it with Creative stuff. 2 MP3 players have quit on me, and my mouse is doing its best impersonation of "Grease Lightning". Switching over to iPod, and put getting a new mouse sooner or later on my priorities.
Everyone I know seems to be having fun. Quite a few people are in JC, some are working, the rest are just slacking. Me? I'm doing fine. Volunteering with the Drama Club in SA for CCA Display was fun. Oh, and I got to see my SYF performance on video! Alright! But what my future holds, I'm not too sure. JC sounds like an OK way to spend 1.5 years, but I just learnt that MI has both an A level and a diploma cert upon graduation.... tempting, no? We'll see.
On a more network note, congratulations to Jonathan Sng for getting a girlfriend. Maybe now you'll be less hyper. All the best to you both. Same goes for Ng Pei Jun. Oh, and I've decided to bury the hatchet when it comes to Tristan, Pei Jun and Timothy Lum. All three of these jokers now have my word that I will not insult you guys. For real. No Kidding. I'm Serious. Apologies to you all. I'd rather start my year nicely. Have a nice year!

Music Soothes The Savage Beast
My MP3 player has finally given up the ghost. Kicked the bucket. Retired permanently. Hopped the twig. Asleep forever. Died.
Well, that was sad. But realistically, I couldn't expect it to last forever, now, could I? What with the kind of people in my house, gadgets and sources of entertainment are usually goners. If they were alive, all entertainment sources assigned to my house would have to be the tough and hard-as-nails kind of endurance, otherwise they would need to be so fragile that they are irreplaceable.
Good news though, my birthday's on the 25th of January, so I will go down to Audio House tomorrow to check on the prices, and hopefully get a new MP3 player. Could anyone give me an unbiased analysis of the Zune, Zen and iPod, and tell me which I should get? Thanks guys. Goodnight!

The Meaning Of The Word
What's in a word? What's in a name? Well, I decided to snap out of my self-imposed stupor, and do a little research on a name very dear to my heart. The one who makes my world spin round.
Tessa is a feminine given name. The name is thought to be derived from the name Theresa, in turn derived from the Greek verb therizein, meaning to harvest. Common versions are Theresa, Teresa, Therese, Tess, Terri, Tessie, Reese, Tisa, Resa, and T. Teresita is the diminutive form of Teresa in Spanish.
The meaning of the name Tessa, or Theresa, is "one who reaps". The name implies one who is destined to work hard, but who will receive great bounty for her efforts. The name is associated with the fall season of the earth's life cycle: a time of harvest, of plenty, of purposeful labors, of warmth and generosity. Tessa shares her harvest with the world, as the earth has given its fruits to Tessa, thus respecting and supporting the natural cycle of life.

Brand New Day
It's a whole different ballgame now. 2008 has started. A Happy New Year to all my dearest friends and family. In the past few days, my party came and went, and so did the movie marathon night at church. This New Year has left me in a slightly more reflective and lucid mood, if only because I have a cold.
I guess my party could be considered a moderate success. Once calls started coming in the last time about cancellations, I had downgraded my attendance expectations to around 10+ people. At highest count, there were 19 people at the party, not counting my brother and myself. To me, that was a success, even if I had to spend money and time on it. I hope everyone had fun, and I hope that everyone enjoyed the food and company.
The New Year's Day movie marathon was fun, because we didn't stick to the rules. Got to Yishun, and then Xuan Yang, James, Arthur and I went straight for the Lord Of The Rings Room. I don't know, but I think we had a hunch no one was too interested in watching LOTR. After a few arguments, and some negotiations, we finally setup Xuan Yang's computer, and watched Stardust, and Kingdom Of Heaven. Meanwhile, the rooms and corridors outside degenerated into chaos, everyone monkeying around and messing up the place. Ain't that great?
Spent all the rest of New Year's Day asleep, watching movies or playing BF2. Great waste of time, eh? Let's see now, New Year's Resolutions, err, my new year's resolution is to... ah screw it. Let's go with a few optimistic goals instead, shall we?

- Ask ♥T♥e♥s♥s♥a♥ out. Yes, I really do love her, but I want to know her feelings about me. If she has different feelings, I will step back or walk away.
- Learn guitar. My chord changes are horrible, and I need a focused practice time. Also, be a little bit more open concerning other people's music tastes.
- Get into JC. No offense to all the poly people, but I think my style of learning suits JC better. If not, MI, poly, overseas or kill myself (in no particular order).
- Get fit. Yep, you heard this from the lazy bugger himself. Get fit.
- Keep this blog alive. The last one died a pathetic and miserable death. Once is enough.
- For once, not lose my wallet, MP3 player, handphone, water bottles, or anything dear to me. That means I can lose my way or my marbles. Haha, lame joke.
- Not waste more than 3 hours daily on the computer. Well, I said these goals were optimistic, right?
- Learn to cook a few more dishes. My current repertoire needs updating, I think.
- See my guy friends find a girlfriend and girl friends find a boyfriend. Seriously, I believe all the friends I have really deserve someone special. You all have been special to me, the guy who started secondary school as a lonely outsider with no social life whatsoever, as you gave me a sense of belonging. I sincerely thank you. May God Bless You.
- Save money. Somehow, I feel as if I have been rather miserly with giving other people treats last year, and so I should save up and bring everyone out more often.
- Be nice to my teachers, and for once avoid trying to kill them of exasperation and sheer disgust.
- Update my jokes. I think some of them are wearing pretty thin, or are inappropriate at certain times.
- Remember ♥T♥e♥s♥s♥a♥'s birthday, and get her a really romantic gift. A diamond necklace good enough? Or should it be silver? Haha, just kidding. But seriously, I Will Remember 10th March, 2008.

Man In The Middle
To quote The Bee Gees, I'm just the man in the middle. Of what? Everything, of course. It's nice being the eye of the hurricane. Everything else is blowing around you, you are safe and calm. Party's in three days! But up to today, interesting events have been unfolding all over the place.
- Rahman has his dad back again! Hooray for moderates! I hope the two can continue to co-exist peacefully.
- Bryan's back, and is willing to help with the drinks.
- Gawain's finally contactable, and is willing to source drinks, at a price.
- Christmas was a blast, and I really had a lot of fun. The cash and presents weren't too bad either.
- I am a full Corporal in BF2, with an eye on being a Sergeant. Yay unlocks! I unlocked the PKM Light Machine Gun, and the M95 Barret Sniper Rifle! Viva Las Headshots! Can't stop rockin'! Woohoo!
- I got a handphone! Yes, I am finally contactable. But be warned, I will still use my home phone if I'm at home.
- Party menu is decided, and so are the drinks!

North By Northeast
To quote Jack Black in the movie The Holiday: "Legend has it that when the Santa Anas blow, all bets are off, anything can happen." In my case, in the past few days when I've been out walking one heck of a cold breeze has been blowing. A chilling, frosty blast of ice whistling down from the north. Change is due soon. I can feel it, but I ain't sure what is gonna happen to me. But one thing's for sure, something's gotta give. It's too much to try and contend with the force of Winter, wind's coming in north by northeast. I'm just gonna lie back and go wherever the wind takes me.
On a more carefree and non-intellectual note, Fight Club training today was fun, and what happened after was even more fun. Today's attendance consisted of myself, Bryan, Abel, Jeremy Wong, and Wei Jie. The other four were practicing armed combat, something I do not excel in. I fight without rules, that's why I can be dangerous. My only style or mantra for combat is that unpredictability equals danger. If people can read you like a book, you might as well not bother. I took out my boredom on a wall and some pillars, and managed to bust open my left hand knuckles. Minor bleeding, just a flesh wound. I've had worse.
Stopped at around 12, went for lunch with Brian's German foreign exchange student Kim, at Serangoon Gardens Market. Char Kway Teow and Steamed dumplings. Aaaah, the sweet unhealthiness of it all. You know, I just realized that Kim looks extremely cute. I wonder why Bryan hasn't asked her out yet? I think I can see chemistry (no not the subject!) between the two of them. Hey, I'm no expert, but I think they are good for each other. Whatever.... Anyways, we went back to Bryan's place, and played poker using arcade chips in place of money. I psychoed Bryan out ForTheWin! Whoopee! Whee! Old Mr B, Riddle-Me-Ree! HAHAHA! I'm had such fun WINNING! But seriously, thanks Bryan, for being such a nice guy. You make a crazy nut like me happy I have such good buddies. I take my hat off to you.
Hmm, I must be going slightly mad. I'm supposed to be scheming, planning and plotting over a certain lady, and yet I'm wasting time? Wait, prioritizing ain't exactly my strong point. Gaah, forget it. I bought her a 2GB thumb drive for Christmas, and I'm gonna load it with love songs. If she don't get the hint, enough of that then. I'll slow down. Jingle Bell Rock, and Merry Christmas! Comin' At You!

The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn
You know, what with all this controversy over movies like The Golden Compass, The Chronicles Of Narnia, Harry Potter, The Lord Of The Rings, The Da Vinci Code and so on, I though I might just weigh in with my two bucks worth. Well, here goes.
I believe that to each, his own. You may come up with your own interpretations of whatever events may transpire. For example, V For Vendetta could be viewed as dangerous anti-government propaganda, or as a dark, yet heroic story of a man fighting a battle no one else would dare fight. Likewise, Robin Hood may be seen as a dangerous bandit who openly defies the law, or as a working-class hero (yeoman) with lordly roots who was unjustly removed from position. Even Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn could be represented as troublemaking rebels against society and all embodiments of authority. In short, a bad example for any young mind. Or, they could be looked at as mischievous, but well-intentioned young scamps who make good in the end. Even children's classic Wind In The Willows has a chapter that generated much controversy. The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, Chapter 7 in the book, was denounced as demonic, un-Christian and certainly not something for children to read. But when I first read the story, I saw only the wild, beautiful spirit of nature itself. The chapter, in my humble opinion, is just a celebration about the beauty of nature, not some deeper message designed to encourage belief in demons and spirits. So it was a great book, great fiction. Honestly, I know my idea isn't gonna change people's view, but I hope people can believe whatever they want, but at the same time respect the fact that not everyone will have the same opinion, and nobody likes to be forced into changing opinions. Good night, and God Bless Us, Everyone!

Roadblock, Or Just A Traffic Light?
Bloody 1am, and I'm supposed to be sleeping. Oh well. Here's a recount of Wednesday's events.
Slept until around 10, then got up, and somehow made my way down to Dhoby Ghaut, to go jamming with Rahman, Wei Jie and Jeremy. Those guys seem to forget that I can't play musical instruments yet, just vocals. Plus, to compound matters, we did not know any jamming studios. But we still went all the way to Swee Lee to muck around for a few hours. Rain started pouring down, so we ran through a little storm and got back to City Hall. Sakae Buffet Rocks! The only problems being that it's GST costs are bloody horrible(especially for students) and bloody hidden. Also, they have this problem of not fixing their coms, so we can't always order by computer. There were also these two tables of idiots in front of us in the buffet line. Typical Beng and Lian behaviour. Talk talk talk, swear in dialect, talk about things in a very inward-looking, non-cosmopolitan way, moan and groan about eating and gaining weight in singlish, blahblahblah. Oh BOOHOO. Don't eat if you don't want to. Sheesh. Never mind, we still managed to down close to 75 plates altogether, making it well worth the $60+ spent.
Got home, Maplestory refused to cooperate. I'm sorry Rahman, it wouldn't cooperate even when I told it that it had to collaborate, or be shot. So I played Mechwarrior for a few hours, then listened to Rascal Flatts until my dad complained I was supposed to be asleep. But I have one major piece of bad, or good, news.
Miss T.W. does not want to go watch Enchanted. She's already seen the movie, with some friends if I'm not wrong. But still, how this ends up depends on me, and I've just decided to view it as a traffic light, rather than a roadblock. I will ask her to watch The Golden Compass, and I will ask her tomorrow. That way, I can bring her to the premiers, or something like that. After all, the early bird gets the worm, if at first you don't succeed try try again, and all that. I am 100% certain I will do it. I won't stop trying, of that I'm assured.
Oh, and Happy Birthday Bryan Ng! Thanks for ten years of memories, and here's wishing for many more! Dias Naomh Aindrea! SA_FOREVER!

Postcards For A Party
Party's been confirmed for the 29th. I am truly sorry to all those who have to rearrange their schedules, but it can't be helped. Since I still can't confirm everyone, I will be sending out cards to invite everyone. Job search is stagnating, as my relatives still haven't got back to me. Also, I now have A Guitar! Yamato G44, made in Japan. Paid $99 for it. I'm very happy with the whole package, even if I can only play three chords as of now. Let my odyssey towards becoming a guitar hero begin! Rock On!
Alright, enough of that. I shall be visiting the SuperTeens camp next week, and saying hello to some of the guys. Also, I will be practising on my guitar, for about 30 mins each day, till I can play my beloved country and gospel songs. Once again, my thanks to Rahman and Jeremy Ho for accompanying me to get my guitar. Pics will be on my Friendster site, so go there and take a looksie. Goodnight!
